Staged to stay. How to live in your ‘best home’ all the time

The core of my business is staging properties to sell. At the end of the process my clients often say to me “I don’t want to move. I wish my house could have looked like this whilst I lived here”.

My Staged to Stay offering does just that. Helps clients live in their ‘best home’ not just when selling but all the time.

My latest Staged to stay client lives in Pullenvale, and had nearly finished a renovation on a 1960’s house on a 2.5 acre block. She had started to buy a few furniture items and then got stuck.  She called me in. In our consultation I really tried to get clear on her style and how she wanted to live, now and in the future. I wanted to know what was working and not working. Room by room we then started moving furniture round where we could and made a list of items that were still required.  I then went away and sourced all the items and pinned them to my client’s own Pinterest board.

One of the reasons my client was struggling was that she liked traditional furnishings but also ultra modern. But above all she liked pretty, especially pastel pinks. This is a difficult look to pull together as the balance between all elements is so important. Here are some of my picks from the open plan living and dining area:

I’m not a trained interior designer and my clients aren’t looking for one.  I start with what my clients have got but use it in new ways or in different rooms. I can then source what is still needed. This gives my clients an overall look to aim for and the products that would suit the look. They can then buy in their own time. Staging their house to stay in their house.

I’m Imogen Brown, a home stager based in the Western suburbs of Brisbane. If you would like to discuss staging your house to stay then give me a call on 0432 994 056 or contact me through my website
